Why Noodles & Company prices are different on every website

Prices at Noodles & Company are set restaurant by restaurant. Two stores in the same state can charge different amounts for the same bowl. That is why menu websites publish numbers that do not match.

We checked four published sources in September 2026. Here is how far apart they were.

DishLowest publishedHighest publishedGap
Chicken Noodle Soup$5.25$9.8187%
Pad Thai$8.00$11.7547%
Cheesy Garlic Bread$5.75$7.6333%
Chicken Parmesan$11.10$14.3129%
Steak Stroganoff$12.95$16.2525%
Creamy Cheddar Mac & Cheese$7.50$7.652%
Most sites pick one number and call it the price. We show the range instead, because the range is the truth.

How to check the price at your restaurant

  • Open the Noodles & Company website or app.
  • Set your location before you look at the menu.
  • Check the price on the item page, not on a third party site.
  • If you order through DoorDash, Uber Eats or Grubhub, expect higher prices than in store. Delivery apps add their own markup.

Data note on Japanese Pan Noodles. Several menu websites list this dish at 40 calories. That figure is wrong. A noodle bowl of this size is closer to 700 calories. The error appears to have been copied between sites. Check the official nutrition calculator before you rely on any published number for this dish.
Data note on Pad Thai. Published calorie counts range from 730 to 1,040 depending on the source and whether a protein is included. The tofu version and the chicken version are not the same.

Does Noodles & Company have gluten-free options?

Yes, but read this section carefully if you have celiac disease. Noodles & Company offers a gluten-sensitive pipette noodle that can replace the pasta in many dishes. Rice noodles are used in Pad Thai. Zucchini noodles, often called zoodles, have also been offered.

Pasta cooking in a shared pot in a restaurant kitchen
Shared pots and utensils are the main cross contact risk. Ask staff how gluten-free noodles are cooked at your location.

What the company says

The company states that it can prepare dishes with ingredients that do not contain gluten, but cannot guarantee any dish is completely gluten-free because of cross contact during cooking. It says its restaurant environments contain gluten and that it cannot remove all risk built into its cooking process. It recommends that anyone who is highly allergic or intolerant to gluten check with a physician before eating there.

What real customers report

Problems people have reported

  • A celiac customer ordered gluten-free noodles, told staff about the condition, was assured there was an allergy protocol, and still had a reaction.
  • Another customer found two regular gluten noodles in a gluten-free mac and cheese bowl about 80 percent of the way through the meal, pointing to a shared pot or spoon.
  • One reviewer reported elbow macaroni turning up in a gluten-free mac, and whole orders arriving with regular noodles instead of gluten-free or zoodles.

Good experiences people have reported

  • One customer called ahead and was told the kitchen cooks the gluten-free noodles first thing in the morning and can finish them in clean water.
  • Another reported a cashier who knew the menu well and entered the order as an allergy so the kitchen would take cross contact steps.
  • A symptomatic celiac who has eaten there many times reported no problems, noting the options are limited but feel safe.
The chain-level warning. The community site Find Me Gluten Free flags this as a chain, which usually means a high risk of cross contact, and states it may not be possible to eat safely there with celiac disease. It also confirms this is not a dedicated gluten-free facility.

Dishes to watch

Chili Garlic Ramen uses wheat ramen noodles and a broth that contains wheat, and shared noodle pots raise the risk further. Avoid it if you need to stay strictly gluten-free. Pasta Fresca can be ordered with the gluten-sensitive pipette noodle instead of rigatoni, and it helps to ask for a separate sauce ladle and a fresh plate.

Our honest read: If you have celiac disease, treat this as a higher risk choice and talk to the staff before you order. If you are avoiding gluten by preference, the options work well.

What are the vegan and vegetarian options?

Several bowls are vegetarian as served, including Buttery Parmesan Noodles, Pasta Fresca and the tofu version of Pad Thai. Vegan eating takes more work here because cheese and butter appear in many sauces. You can swap proteins on most dishes, and tofu is the plant-based protein option.

Is Noodles & Company healthy?

It depends entirely on what you order. The gap between the lightest and heaviest meal here is large.

DishCalories
Lightest full mealMed Salad with Grilled Chicken440
Heaviest entréeBuffalo Chicken Ranch Mac & Cheese1,380

That is a difference of 940 calories between two meals at the same counter. Three ways to order lighter:

  • Pick a salad with grilled chicken instead of a cream sauce bowl.
  • Ask for zucchini noodles in place of pasta where available.
  • Skip the Cheesy Garlic Bread. It adds 610 to 701 calories on its own.

What changed on the Noodles & Company menu?

The chain rebuilt a large part of its menu in 2025. Some long running dishes are gone. The company has said it is curating the menu based on what guests are craving, and confirmed that Leanguini and some zucchini dishes are no longer on the menu.

CEO Drew Madsen pointed to slower guest adoption of the upgrades made to some historic menu items as one reason for the chain’s sales problems. In plain terms, some customers did not like the replacements.

What should you order at Noodles & Company?

Here is what the company says and what customers actually say.

The company’s own top picks

Noodles & Company ranks Creamy Cheddar Mac & Cheese as number one, calling it the dish it knows best, built on elbow noodles that hold the cheddar jack sauce. Buttery Parmesan Noodles sits at number two, pitched at both adults who want a familiar meal and kids who want something simple. Basil Pesto Cavatappi rounds out the list at number five.

What customers recommend

Japanese Pan Noodles with shrimp
Named directly by reviewers as a go-to order.
Buttered noodles + parmesan crusted chicken
A Facebook commenter called this their standing order. A TikTok commenter said the buttered noodles made them emotional because of the nostalgia.
Three Cheese Tortelloni with crusted chicken
Described by one family as the best dish at their table.
Zoodles in Rosa sauce with grilled chicken
One customer called this combination very good and praised the manager for helping match the order to their diet.
What to skip. The most repeated complaint we found is about steak. One family reported that the steak in two different dishes came out rubbery and overcooked, and advised against ordering anything with steak.

Ordering tips from regulars

  • Ask for extra sauce on the side. Several reviewers say the bowls can run dry.
  • Ask for hot chili packs if a dish is not spicy enough for you.
  • You can swap proteins and ask for noodle substitutions on most dishes.
  • Potstickers can be ordered steamed instead of fried.

Is Noodles & Company closing locations?

Yes. The chain has been closing restaurants since 2025, and the programme has continued through 2026. We track the figures quarter by quarter in our guide to Noodles & Company restaurant closures. On August 13, 2025, Noodles & Company announced with its second quarter results that it would close 28 to 32 company owned locations by the end of that year. At that point the company had already closed six restaurants in 2025 and opened one, while two franchise locations also shut down. A further 12 to 17 closures were planned after that.

Why it is happening

Second quarter 2025 revenue fell 0.7 percent to $126.4 million from $127.4 million, and the net loss widened to $17.6 million from $13.6 million a year earlier. CEO Drew Madsen blamed a strong value conscious climate and slow guest adoption of menu upgrades, and announced he was stepping down. Joe Christina, then chief operating officer, took over as CEO.

What customers say about it

Price is the theme that comes up most. In a Reddit thread asking what happened to the chain, one reply summed it up as constant menu changes that made the food more expensive and lower quality. Another commenter wrote that it became less noodles and more company. A third explained that the point of fast casual used to be that it cost less than a sit down restaurant, and now the gap is small enough that speed is the only advantage left. The company responded in part with a 30th anniversary campaign in 2025 that brought back 1990s pricing for a short period, putting Buttered Noodles and other dishes at $4.95.
